The aim of the study was to study the results of treatment of patients with discolored teeth using various types of lumineers and composite veneers.
Materials and methods. The study involved patients with discoloration of the teeth who underwent dental treatment: in group I (n = 10) – using lumineers made of ceranite ceramics, in group II (n = 10) – using modified lumineers made from lithium disilicate, in the group III (n = 20) – using composite veneers. The duration of follow-up after treatment was 24 months.
Results. According to the results of a two-year observation, and analysis of the effectiveness of treatment using lumineers made of ceramite ceramics Lumineers by Cerinate (USA), using modified lumineers made of lithium disilicate IPS e.max Press (Liechtenstein) and using IPS Empress direct (Liechtenstein) composite veneers was higher in the group using lumineers compared to composite veneers, but these differences were not statistically significant. Also, there were no statistically significant differences when using lumineers made of ceranite ceramics and modified lumineers made of lithium disilicate.
The results of a biometric study of gypsum models of 174 people of the first period of adulthood with physiological occlusion of permanent teeth made it possible to calculate the boundaries of variability under normodontism, macrodontism, and microdontism for upper and lower dental arches. The length of the upper dental arch during normodontism with an interval of ‘three sigma’ varied from 109 to 117 mm, and the length of the lower dental arch was 101 to 114 mm. A decrease in biometric values by odontometric indicator beyond the limits of sigmal deviations for normodont indicators made it possible to distinguish a micro-type of dental arches, and an increase in biometric values – macro-standard. The calculated data on the relative morphometric values of the dental arches, the index of the ratio of the length of the dental arch to the transversal sizes (normodontism: upper jaw at 1.85 ± 0.20 cu, lower jaw at 1.94 ± 0.20 cu; macrodontism: upper jaw at 1.86 ± 0.03 cu; lower jaw at 1.88 ± 0.02 cu; microdontism: upper jaw at 1.82 ± 0.01 cu, the lower jaw at 1.83 ± 0.02 cu), as well as the index of the ratio of the length of the dental arch to the sum of the diagonal dimensions of both sides (normodontism: upper jaw at 1.05 ± 0.02 cu, lower jaw at 1.10 ± 0.02 cu; macrodontism: upper jaw at 1.07 ± 0.01 cu, lower jaw at 1.08 ± 0.02 cu; microdontism: upper jaw at 1.06 ± 0.02 cu, lower jaw at 1.09 ± 0.02 cu), it is advisable to use for the diagnosis of anomalies in the shape and size of the dental arches in clinical orthodontics and orthopedic dentistry.

The article is devoted to the study of the condition of periodontal tissues in patients with diagnoses of ‘defect of hard tissue of teeth’ and ‘partial loss of teeth’ before and after orthopedic treatment using the method of thermography. The method of infrared thermography has such qualities as high information content, non-invasive research, ease of use, objectivity and complete safety. 50 patients were examined before and after prosthetics with fixed prostheses and 30 subjects of the control group with an intact periodontium. As a result of the study, data were obtained that led to the conclusion that orthopedic treatment of patients with periodontal diseases favorably affects the state of periodontal tissues, reducing inflammation, as evidenced by a decrease in thermography values after treatment.
The purpose of the study was a clinical electrometric assessment of the quality of the marginal fit of the composite material to the hard tissues of the tooth, depending on the type and amount of adhesive used the influence of the adhesive, namely: the mechanism of its action and quantity, on the quality of restoration of the hard tissues of the tooth lost by the carious process in the composite material over time.
Material and methods. In clinical conditions, 140 fillings were examined, the placement of which was carried out only in cavities of classes 1 and 2, with the area affected by the carious process of hard tooth tissues from 30 to 50 mm2. For this, composite material ESTET X and adhesive systems were used: one-component XP BOND and self-etching XENO V in different volumes (6.6 and 17.7 mg). To assess the marginal fit of the filling material to the hard tissues of the tooth, the multifunctional electro-diagnostic device EST-DENT (Geosoft, Russia) was used. The principle of operation of the device is based on measuring the strength of the current flowing through the hard tissues of the tooth under the influence of a low-voltage source of electrical power.
Results. The quality of the marginal fit of composite fillings to the hard tissues of the tooth, which is the main factor determining the durability of their functioning, largely depends on the amount of adhesive used, its mechanism of action, the area and depth of the carious lesion of dentin. Over time, there is a change in the structure obtained as a result of the mechanical and chemical interaction of the adhesive system and hard tissues of the tooth (primarily the hybrid layer), in the direction of decreasing its density and breaking integrity. This in turn increases the amount of electric current passing through it.
Conclusions. An analysis of the obtained clinical data shows that when restoring hard tissues of teeth lost over large areas and located close to the pulp cavity of the coronal part of the tooth, it is necessary to take into account the effect of dentinal fluid on the quality and durability of the restoration. The use in these cases of adhesive systems in an amount of not less than 17.7 mg (a drop from dispenser), careful preparation of the affected tooth tissues, rational design of the formed cavity, strict adherence to the manufacturer’s recommendations on the time of use of the adhesive. can significantly reduce the risk of unsatisfactory treatment results.
Currently, manufacturing techniques for removable orthopedic structures made of thermoplastic materials are widely used.
Objective. To determine the clinical effectiveness of orthopedic treatment of dentition defects with arch prostheses with a framework made of polyoxymethylene using a modified design of supporting metal-ceramic crowns. Using clinical methods, 76 patients with defects in the dentition were examined, who underwent orthopedic treatment with arch prostheses with a frame made of metal and polyoxymethylene. As a result of the study, the clinical efficacy of using the proposed design of a metal-ceramic crown for a support-retaining clasp made of polyoxymethylene and a method for creating a retention zone in a ceramic-metal crown is proved.
We studied the dynamics of changes in periodontal tissues, tooth sensitivity, as well as the state of mucosal immunity when using the ASEPTA® Remineralization toothbrush (Vertex Co., St. Petersburg, Russia) in adults.
