In the lecture, the author analyzes in detail the legitimacy of using the coherence function to analyze the bioelectrical activity of the brain in practical electroencephalography from the standpoint of mathematical and clinical validity. The author touches upon the issues of the informational significance of EEG coherence indicators in the disclosure in the assessment of the functional state of the brain about the mental characteristics of a person. As an evidence base, the author demonstrates examples of the information content of EEG coherence analysis data in terms of predicting the outcome in patients in an unconscious state. The author describes the stages of the formation of intracerebral connections according to the data of coherent analysis of the EEG at the stages of age-related development on the model of infants of age, after term birth and in preterm infants with a favorable course of development, and also the formation of spatio- temporal relations of the EEG of premature infants with periventricular leukomalacia on the 1st — 2 nd years of life.
The article presents the possibilities of a new method of neurophysiological research in forensic psychiatry — the variance of the amplitude- frequency characteristics of the alpha rhythm of the EEG on the example of a dynamic study of a patient with dissociation of personality identification
It is important for a doctor of ultrasound specialty to understand the methodology and the course of endovascular closure of the atrial septal defect for proper ultrasound support. If the occluder is placed correctly, the heart defect is completely eliminated. The surgeon performs implantation as accurately as possible under the control of radiography and transesophageal echocardiography.
Aim. To study the possibility of using algorithms (developed using resting ECG as a mapping tool) for localization arrhythmogenic focus of ventricular arrhythmias (VA) detected by ambulatory 12-lead ECG monitoring (AECGM) with the identification of predominant origins of VA.
Material and methods. The study included 54 patients aged 45 to 80 years with high frequency VA evaluated during AECGM: 29 — with coronary artery disease (CAD), 25 — w ithout CAD, who underwent radiofrequency ablation (RFA). The study included patients with effective ablation based on AECGM performed 6 months after RFA. Verification localization of VA exit site was carried out during endocardial mapping and AECGM («Cardiotechnika-04, СT-07», «Incart»). The following algorithms were considered in the study: D. Kuchar; O. Segal; J. Miller; A. S. Revishvili, R. Y. Snegur (2006, 2007); A. B. Weinstein; M. V. Noskova. It was assessed the percentage of matches applying the comparative analysis of results of the invasive and non-invasive methods, and it was revealed the predominant localization of VA.
Results. The following algorithms had the highest percentage of matches: D. Kuchar in patients with CAD; A. S. Revishvili, R. Y. Snegur (2007) and M. V. Noskova in patients without CAD. The predominant origins of VA in patients without CAD were the left sinus of Valsalva, right ventricular outflow tract, and in patients with CAD — b asal inferior left ventricular wall, right ventricular outflow tract.
Conclusion. Algorithms for arrhythmogenic focus localization of VA, developed using resting ECG, can be used to determine the origin of VA detecting by 12-lead AECGM, taking into account patient’s medical history (CAD, myocardial infarction).
Objective: to evaluate sustainability of spatial QRS-T angle of vectorcardiogram to filtration.
Materials and methods: Vectorcardiographic records in Frank lead system obtained from 53 randomly included patients with sinus normocardia (28–80 years) were synthesized by means of special algorithm developed in our laboratory based on Bemmel’s matrix. The changes in P, Q, R, S, T amplitudes and in the values of spatial QRS-T angle were analysed at different modes of filtering (70 Гц, 40 Гц, 30 Гц) and without filtering.
Results: all of the filtration modes studied diminished the amplitudes of ventricular complex components while no significant changes in the values of spatial QRS-T angle were observed.
Conclusion: a new methodology for ECG and VCG parameters sustainability to signal processing (filtration) was developed and tested; the hypothesis about sustainability of spatial QRS-T angle of vectorcardiogram to filtration was approved. Taking into account that spatial QRS-T angle is known as a strong predictor of cardiac diseases, it seems perspective to be implemented in automatic ECG analysis algorythms.
Medical thermography is one of the most dynamically progressing methods of diagnostics. The article discusses the potential benefit from the introduction of this technology in the primary medical care providers routine.
The article is dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the birth of Professor Zoya Zakharovna Dorofeeva, one of the founders of the Russian electrocardiographic school. Name Z. Z. Dorofeeva is inextricably linked with the development of electro- and vectorcardiography at the Cardiology Research Center, now named after Academician E. I. Chazov. The article briefly highlights the combat path of Z. Z. Dorofeeva during the Second World War. A wide range of topics of scientific research of the team led by her in the field of cardiological instrumental diagnostics is reflected. We noted the contribution of Z. Z. Dorofeeva to international scientific cooperation. Particular attention is paid to the pioneering works of Z. Z. Dorofeeva on the use of electronic computers to automate the registration, description and evaluation of the electrical signals of the heart.
