Maxillofacial surgery clinic material report: retrospective analysis of mandible condylar process fractures surgical treatment

Abstract

IN CLINICAL PRACTICE THE USE OF NEEDLE FOR OSTEOSYNTHESIS IS STILL THE METHOD OF CHOICE ESPECIALLY IN CASES OF HIGH MANDIBLE CONDYLAR PROCESS FRACTURES. THIS IS DUE TO THE LESS TRAUMATIC SURGICAL APPROACH AS WELL AS ABSENCE OF NECESSITY FOR THE BRANCH OSTEOTOMY OR THE CONDYLAR PROCESS HEAD DISARTICULATION. THE CARRIED OUT STUDY REVEALED A NECESSITY FOR THE FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF INTRAMEDULLARY ROD FIXATION TECHNIQUE OF THE MANDIBLE CONDYLE WITH THE CREATION OF A FUNCTIONALLY STABLE ROD CLAMP AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF IMPROVED AND NONINVASIVE SURGICAL METHOD.
