Role of regulatory T-cells in development of autoimmune inflammatory response in psoriasis

Abstract

Psoriasis is a chronical inflammatory disease with genetic predisposition triggered by environmental factors. Regulatory T-cells, that are considered to be an important part of immunotolerance, play a clue role in psoriasis pathogenesis. To measure the amount and functional activity of regulatory T-cells in patients with psoriasis a large number of studies are being currently conducted. The data obtained in the course of the research are rather contradictory. The data resulting from the studies are rather discrepant. This article presents already known data on the role of T_reg-cells and anti-inflammatory cytokines in the pathogenesis of psoriasis.
