Development and implementation of educational path of(Mind-ftness’ cognitive supportfor graduate students

Abstract

Professional successes of further specialist are determined by ability for self organization, mind flexibility, possibility to change the trajectories in dynamics of professional development, effective communication abilities in stress conditions etc, wh'ich is called (softskills). All these abilities in individual subject are based on the activity of brain functioning. The problem of cognitive development in modern society is mostly discussed in age groups of pre-school children, school children and aged persons. Unfortunately, much less attention is paid to the students, especially at the turning points of their learning and life. The aim of study was development and implementation of educational path of cognitive support Mind-fitness, the educational system based on master-classes, trainings and seminars, aimed on building of the conditions for cognitive development and soft skills formation during the interdisciplinary interaction of specialists in medicine, pedagogics and management. Materials and methods. We investigated a group of 4th year students of institute of economics and management of University of Pedagogics. Group consisted from 12 students. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were signing of informed consent and absence of educational debts. Control group included 12 students of same course, matched by same exclusion and inclusion criteria, who didn’t pass the above mentioned educational program. Investigation consisted of three steps. First step included neurologist examination, laboratory tests and presenting of special recommendations if necessary. Also tests for the anxiety, depression, asthenia, and tests for higher mental functions development were analyzed. All tests were performed in both main and control groups. Second step consisted of building up the individual path for studies and group-based studies conduction. Studies were aimed on development of cognitive functions, effective communications etc. In this period students prepared and defended the final diploma work. At the third step the repeated testing for anxiety, depression, asthenia was performed, results of final diploma work were analyzed. The data were analyzed by the statistical software package IBM SPSS21.0. Conclusions. Additional targeted classes for graduate courses baccalaureat students were prepared for training of higher mental functions and included group-based and individual training methods (full time and distant). These classes, aimed on the formation of divergence and creativity of thinking processes, have shown the beneficial influence both on the success of the final period of education and severity of astenia. Soft skills development in further professionals, with high degree of probability, will increase the abilities for successful work in any field specialists.
