How to minimize risks of NSAID-induced lesions of gastrointestinal tract? Possible tactics of patient management
Abstract
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are effective analgesic drugs among funds and among the antiinflammatory drugs used widely in clinical practice. It is important to emphasize that the main circle of consumers of NSAIDs in a population are patients with chronic disorders of the joints and vertebral column. However, the appointment of NSAIDs must be considered risk factors for side effects. Given the fact that the bulk of patients taking NSAIDs, these are the faces of elderly and senile age, which often arise adverse events to medications, including NSAIDs, need closer control in the appointment of this therapy, taking into account age peculiarities. This article will examine the most commonadverse events of these drugs, namely the pathology of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT): NSAIDs-gastroduodenal and enteropathy, as well as possible clinical management of patient to minimise risk of development of this pathology and the use of different therapeutic approaches.
