Role of triggers and behavioral therapy in effective approaches to non-drug therapiesfor migraines

Abstract

Migraine is one of the most common neurological diseases. About 12 % of the population periodically experience migraine attacks. in this case about 50 % of patients with migraine are not satisfied with the results of the therapy. 40 % of patients do not return for a second visit to the doctor, and only 25 % adhere to the treatment during the year. This highlights the importance of creating a trustful dialogue between the patient and the doctor, analyzing the patient s views on the disease, strategies and expectations from therapy. The use of non-drug therapy, detection and monitoring of individual triggers of migraine are highly effective both independently and in combination with preventive pharmacotherapy.
