Эволюция хирургических методов восстановления отсутствующих зубов

Попытки восстановления непрерывности зубных рядов уходят своими корнями в глубокую древность, доказательством тому служат многочисленные находки археологических раскопок и объекты письменности, найденные по всему миру. Они послужили вещественными доказательствами существования имплантологии в древних цивилизациях и помогли восстановить хронологию ее развития. Так, приблизительно в 2500 году до н. э. египтяне пытались укрепить зубы с пораженным пародонтом при помощи лигатурной проволоки из золота, а в 2000 году до н. э. в Древнем Китае утерянные зубы заменялись бамбуковыми колышками. В разные временные промежутки применялись различные материалы для изготовления искусственных зубов: морские ракушки, розовый кварц, зубы и кости животных, фарфор и т. д., зубы пытались реплантировать, трансплантировать от живых и мертвых людей. Высокий процент послеоперационного инфицирования, ограниченность знаний, религиозные запреты, скептицизм научных элит выступали тормозящими факторами на разных этапах становления имплантологии, как важной сферы стоматологии. Данная статья посвящена развитию дентальной имплантологии и врачам-ученым, сыгравшим ключевую роль в становлении и развитии этой области стоматологии.
