<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Prevalence of the neurodegenerative disorders is progressively increasing. This demands search for the approaches to modifying their progression. Caffeine is one of the most widely consumed psychoactive substances globally. Its effects are dose-dependent, and among caffeine’s mechanisms of action the main one is non-specific antagonism to adenosine receptors. In this review, current knowledge on use of caffeine in such neurodegenerative disorders as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington's disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is summarized.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>кофеин</kwd><kwd>нейродегенеративные заболевания</kwd><kwd>аденозиновые рецепторы</kwd><kwd>болезнь Паркинсона</kwd><kwd>болезнь Альцгеймера</kwd><kwd>болезнь Гентингтона</kwd><kwd>боковой амиотрофический склероз</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>caffeine</kwd><kwd>neurodegenerative disorders</kwd><kwd>adenosine receptors</kwd><kwd>Parkinson’s disease</kwd><kwd>Alzheimer’s disease</kwd><kwd>Huntington's disease</kwd><kwd>amyotrophic lateral sclerosis</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Ершова М.
