В ходе рутинной лабораторной практики Corynebacterium urealyticum, как правило, не выделяют, традиционно считая их, как и большинство других видов коринебактерий, контаминантами, а также из-за медленного роста, видимого не ранее чем через 48 часов. Фенотипическую идентификацию Corynebacterium urealyticum проводят, используя API Coryne и тест на уреазу, с помощью молекулярно-биологических методов (RT-PCR с праймерами для микобактерий). В настоящее время для идентификации также применяют MALDI-TOF MS. Согласно имеющимся данным, большая часть штаммов C. urealyticum резистентны к бета-лактамным антибиотикам, аминогликозидам и тетрациклинам.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>In this review it has been regarded a nosocomial pathogen Corynebacterium urealyticum with respect to its laboratory investigation, relationship to diseases including cystitis, pyelonephritis, bacteremia and sepsis. It is usually missed in routine culture because of its coryneform morphology (considered as contaminant), and it requires 48 hours of incubation to grow. It can be diagnosed using phenotypic (API Coryne, urease test) and molecular methods (RT-PCR using mycobacterial primers). Recently MALDI-TOF MS has also been used for its identification.
